To make it clear, I wasn’t born with any disability. It happened in 2013. I was doing my daily activities and I was getting ready to go out and I felt a pain. I was unconscious for a long time and they suspected it to be related to my nervous system, so we had to meet a neurologist, who said I was suffering from blood pressure which was affecting my right side.

However, my family members say that part of my body was cursed and that we had to go to the witchdoctor and find out who did it to me and send it back to that person. But my mum said she cannot do it, because she serves a powerful God. Those who came to visit me back then couldn’t even enter the house. One uncle from church told me that he came to my place but couldn’t enter because he was frightened. So, my story is a bit loaded.

Up ‘til now, people still can’t understand that I can’t use my right hand. They can’t just understand how I can be slow, or not do some things like other young people. In church, I don’t talk a lot about it. I don’t want to be seen differently. In school, in high school, my sports teacher didn’t understand why I didn’t do sport so I had to give him all explanations. But the teacher still couldn’t accept. So, people can’t understand how a young person can have high blood pressure and lose her faculties. People at the university ask me why can’t you do this thing, but you can do something else, so I just explain what is necessary. I know that they don’t understand. Nothing physically shows that I am a disabled person.
