To mark International Day of Persons with Disability, the DIA Network and the Department of Arts and Archaeology (UYI) held an event on 5th December 2023, coordinated by Professor Emelda Samba, Head of Section for Performing Arts and Cinematography of the University Yaounde 1 and DIA Cameroon Lead, with the assistance of Mr Bikme Constant.

The event included a round table on the theme of ‘United in action to rescue and achieve SDG 4 and SDG 16 for, with, and by persons with disabilities in Higher Education’ with speakers Dr MEDOU Marthe (UYI), Mr BIKME Rick (member of the DIA Network), and Mr Emile Chancelier DJOMAHA (President of the Disability Club, UYI).

The round table was followed by an artistic performance, in which eleven participants showed their talents. At the end of the performances, Professor Samba gave a closing talk and a concrete resolution was made to provide something significant for the department which will help the students with disability to access quality education.
